Presentations of the Future?

14 01 2011

Now, it is no secret that I am not much of a fan of PowerPoint. That being said, it has its place in the bag of tricks for presenting information to a large audiences where you have limited time to get an idea across to an audience you may never see again. However, that is not an excuse for the frequent sin you see where slides are packed full of words and bullet points and the presenters simply read the text to the sleeping crowd.

One cure for this sleep inducing mode of information transfer is to explore the work of Garr Reynold’s Presentation Zen or visit the world of Pecha Kucha (20×20)

However, this morning I watched the most incredible and engaging presentation of statistics looking at 200 countries over 200 years all presented in 4 minutes. Could this be the presentation format of the future? What are your thoughts?
