I just finished a presentation hosted by Live Classroom 2.0 titled Telling Stories through Digital Threads. This was a story of the first two weeks after the election results in Iran and was told by the Iranian people and the people of the world. All I did was capture their story as it was told and linked it through digital threads.
The idea here is that when you read or view something online, it is often linked to another item online or digital thread. You pull on one item and invariably it is attached to others. A tweet leads you to another tweet that leads you to facebook that leads you to a video that leads you to a blog etc. It is all one big web that is our story. Below you will find information about when and where the session took place as well as the slides and many resources. When the recorded version of this presentation goes live, I will add its link as well. I welcome comments and dialogue about the topic, presentation or links to your own stories.
Story told on Live Classroom 2.0
Join me online Saturday July 25th on Live Classroom 2.0
Session Location: Elluminate – http://tinyurl.com/cr20live
Day: Saturday July 25, 2009
Time: 9:00am Pacific/ 10:00am Mountain/11:00am Central/ 12:00pm Eastern
To follow on Twitter: #liveclass20
This short 20 minute presentation will explore the nature of what I am calling digital threads and will be followed by Q&A. Like a web, you pull on one thread only to see that it is attached to others. Each story’s thread is linked to another in an endless web of personal experiences, meanings, tragedies and triumphs. Come see how the world told the story, of the first two weeks of Iranian unrest surrounding the recent elections, using Twitter and other tools. This story is amazing, touching, emotional, real… Come hear a story as it unfolds and see how you can collect your own stories told through digital threads.
